Laura Larkin Psychology
Laura is a psychologist who recently moved back to the Yarra Valley from New Zealand and currently has available sessions with no wait-list. Working in private practice in Seville, Laura supports individuals to find their own way through challenges and pain to live a full life of enjoyment and purpose. Laura can support adults (18yo+) local to the hills in person, as well as those across Australia via Telehealth.
Laura is experienced in delivering evidenced-based individual, group and telehealth therapy to a range of clients from different ages and backgrounds. Laura's experience covers treatment of a range of mental health and life difficulties including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma including perinatal/birth trauma, anger, chronic pain, grief, relationship problems, and sleep difficulties.
Laura strives to be an ally to those within the BIPOC, LGBTIQA+ and neurodivergent communities. Laura has worked with children and parents at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, and provided therapy in Pain Management Services, Outpatient Trauma Services, Child and Youth Public Mental Health Services and Private Practice. More recently many of Laura's clients have been parents seeking support to heal from their life experiences and pain, in order to be the parent they hope to be for their children.
Laura accepts referrals from GP's through the Medicare Better Acces program (Mental Health Care Plans via GP) and Medicare Non-Directive Pregnancy Counselling Support Service. Laura draws on her experience and training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Treatments, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Schema Therapy when working with clients.
