Because No Mum Should Navigate This Journey Alone

I still remember the sound—those endless hours of crying that echoed through the house and into my bones. My first baby was “colicky,” they said, which felt like a nice way of saying, good luck, this is going to be rough. Every evening, without fail, he’d cry and cry for hours. I paced the floors, tried all the tricks, and wore a groove into the carpet.

If I thought colic was bad, dry reflux knocked that thought on the head. My second had dry reflux, and that took things to another level. I couldn’t put him down without him screaming in discomfort. The crying was constant. The sleep was scarce. The stress was all-consuming.

And the worst part? Feeling dismissed. Feeling like my concerns were brushed off while I was barely holding it together. It’s a special kind of isolation and loneliness, worrying that your baby is in pain and not having anyone really see you.

Motherhood comes with questions, challenges, and moments where a little support makes all the difference. 💛

That’s why Mums of the Hills is proud to support Breastfeeding ‘Drop-in and Chat’ sessions at the MotHs Hub in Belgrave, run by local volunteers from the Australian Breastfeeding Association.

Whether you're breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, or doing a bit of both, this is a safe and welcoming space to ask questions, get support, or simply enjoy a cuppa and a chat with other mums who get it. Sometimes, just being heard can change your whole day.
