We’ve been busy…

Thanks to Annemarie Meijerink and Mattie Young on the cake stall

Yup… it has been an incredibly busy time for the MotHs, the new space and myself personally. My sincere apologies for not updating you until now.

How would I describe progress at the hub. Hmmm… I’d say we’re at the pregnancy equivalent 43 weeks. We’re trying everything we can to get this baby out! Delays with products, raising funds and trades may have slowed us a little, but we’ve still achieved a whole lot!

Cake Stall and Clothes Swap

We firstly tested the space out for our first clothes swap for the year. It was a great success with the cake stall being just about sold out. We have many businesses to thank including Proserpina Bakehouse, Emerald Bakery, The Blacksmiths, Belgrave South Bakery for these delicious goods. Your Coffee Chick also kept us all caffeinated and so we can’t thank them enough!

MotHs member & Garden Designer Wins at The International Flower and Garden Show

This year Rebecca Mitchell at Little Footprint Studios challenged herself to enter into Melbourne’s International Flower and Garden Show. With “nothing to lose” she put all her passion into this project and to her credit has been accepted for not one but TWO gardens (1 balcony and 1 border garden).

MotHs was so honoured when Rebecca said she wanted to dedicate one of the gardens to MotHs. A beautiful garden honouring the wonderful mums in our area. This was only topped by learning that Rebekah won first prize for her entry into the Balcony Garden section. A huge congratulations to Rebekah and I can’t wait to hear what this prize brings to you.

Amazing Local Businesses

I keep saying it but we are truly humbled by the support our local businesses have given us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Each will quite rightly get their own blog post showing the before and after shots as work is completed. They are truly awesome businesses and a short shout out isn’t enough to thank them for their support. While we wait in anticipation I can’t help but give you a shout out anyway. Thank you!!

Murphy’s Mitre 10 in Monbulk: I wrote an email just on a whim to see if they would help us cover an unsightly wall or two. Absolutely can do was the response! Here is one of the Mitre 10 legends dropping off the boards. Work has been approved for this now and will go ahead at full steam!

The Paint Spot - Knox: The fabulous Pacquita has been instrumental in securing us paint for the walls. Our hub will look so lovely and fresh thanks to the generous donation of paint. Thank you!

Bunnings Scoresby: Our lighting and storage is all sorted thanks to the generous gift vouchers donated by Bunnings Scoresby. Thanks Karen and Gracie for seeing and getting behind this project.

Taits Interiors: OMG I really hope that you are fully booked with orders once everyone sees the beautiful blinds that you are making for the hub. Amazing!! Absolutely stunning and I can’t wait to show them (and you) off to the whole world. Thank you wonderful Natalie. You are an amazing human.

Karma Flooring Bayswater: I think their names says it all. These guys are the bees knees and have provided us with an exceptionally good deal for our new flooring. With this now being approved, and the gross carpet ripped out, once again I can’t wait to show the floors and Karma Flooring off. Thank you!

Best Digital Signs: Marge and Mark Piper are simply the best at what they do. They are also some of the most community minded people I know. We are so grateful for their support with signage for our new place. Can’t wait!
