Weaving Through the Trail

Get creative and collaborate in fibre artworks in response to the June 2021 storm.

  • Location: Outside Station House, Mt Evelyn (alongside the rail trail)

50 Wray Cres, Mount Evelyn,  3796

  • Date: Saturday, 19th and Sunday 20th February

  • Start: 10:00-3:00pm

Artists Bronwyn Ward and Kerri Hollingsworth invite you to participate in a weekend of creative encounters in Mount Evelyn to make collaborative fibre artworks in response to the June 2021 storm. This will include making a nature weave using natural fibres and learning how to make latch hook leaves.

In addition to creating woven and latch hook art works, they would like to provide space for reflective writing about the personal impact of the disaster and then transforming these stories into "story ropes".

These collaborative artworks will provide the starting point for an exhibition at Burrinja in August reflecting on the impact of the storm 12 months on.

This event is free to all who would like to drop by over the course of the weekend. No bookings required.

Price: This is a free event
