Join us online and meet the people behind the Voices of Casey and also the wonderful Alana Johnson AM, past President of Voices for Indi and current director of the Community Independents Project.

Voices for Casey is searching for a candidate to represent our electorate and we are also looking for community minded people who would like to help us to get a community candidate elected to the Federal seat of Casey.

About our Guest speaker: Alana Johnson AM

Alana is a founding member and past President of Voices for Indi, the acclaimed democracy project that saw Indi be the first electorate to elect an Independent MP to follow an Independent MP. She is currently a director of the Community Independents Project which aims to get more Community Independent candidates elected to federal parliament in 2022.

Alana is widely recognized for her work in rural development and gender equality. In January 2020 she was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for her services to women.

Alana Johnson was the Rural Women’s Award Victorian winner and Australian runner up for 2010. Alana was named in the inaugural 100 Women of Influence in Australia by the Australian Financial Review and the inaugural 100 Women in Australian Agribusiness by Rural Press.

Alana is fifth generation family farming engaged in cattle production, farm forestry and an award-winning habitat restoration near Benalla in NE Victoria.
