Meet the candidates standing for Casey division in the next Federal election.
Location: Online
Date: Thursday May 5th
Start: 7:30pm - 9:30pm
Mums of the Hills (MotHs) invite you to join us for this online forum to meet our Casey candidates and learn how they intend to address the key concerns of Casey shire residents. The event is currently only online, however I will let people know if we can extend this to a combined online/face to face event.
Mums of the Hills was created to support the wellbeing of local mums recognising that mothers living in mountainous areas are often disadvantaged differently to other areas. With access to jobs, childcare, health care (particularly in mental health) and transportation often limited, MotHs is passionate about supporting and advocating on these local issues and so I hope you will join us for this event.
The forum will be take the form of a Q&A followed by debate. Each candidate will have the opportunity to introduce themselves and talk about what they hope to achieve should they become the next Federal member for Casey. A combination of pre prepared and audience questions will ensure that key issues and concerns for the shire are addressed.
Price: FREE
Below I have provided a short bio of each of our candidates, all of which will be attending this event.

I believe we have a duty to leave our family in a better position than what we inherited. When I applied this belief to Australia, I was genuinely concerned with the country and future my daughter and all our children will inherit. Can we really say that under the Liberal and Labor duopoly we are leaving our country, communities and environment in a better position? For me the answer was no, I want change and felt the only way to achieve it was to stand up and try to be the change.

I have the experience and expertise needed for the job in Canberra. During my 30-year career in transport and sustainability, I have run a small business, worked internationally, and been a Senior Engineer in a number of big corporates. This means I have real world experience in all the places that governments like to make rules. I know how to find my way around governments, I know how they tick from the inside.

I am a musician, scholar and academic leader, and I’ll bring integrity back to politics in Casey. Our beautiful region needs a Federal representative that is willing to address the climate crisis, stop harmful logging in our natives forests, and create secure jobs in renewable energy. To stop the ever-growing wealth gap and better support the needs of our community we will fund affordable housing, transition to sustainable manufacturing and properly invest in aged care.

Chris Field is almost retired, after a lifetime involving media and Christian ministry, writing, teaching, preaching, video production, and more.
Chris and wife Susan have been married for almost 50 years and have 28 grandchildren. Topher Field is one of the 7 children - learning video production via Chris's TV activities.
Chris believes that the rights and freedoms of Aussies have been stolen by successive Major Party Professional Polly governments over the past half century and there is no hope in sight if we stick with that program.
The current climate of unrest gives hope that things can change, but more Aussies need to wake up and see that the great start we had at Federation is still enshrined in law (our constitution) and can be reclaimed - for the good of us all. At Federation we had a great people, with a great constitution, great land and great hope. We still have all those treasures, but we are under a blanket of deception and enslavement that attacks each of them.
It's time to step up and reclaim what has always been ours - but that means breaking the stranglehold of the Major Parties.
