Little Experimenteers

Little Experimenteers provides Early Childhood Occupational Therapy Services to children (0-7 years old) and their families.

We work with you and your child at home, kinder, online, and in the community to reach your goals in the context of day-to-day life.

We also run education and community groups on relevant topics to the families we serve.

Get in touch if you would like to find out more about services, or if you would like to collaborate on a group or event that would benefit your community :)

What we do:

We work with families and children (0-7years) with delays and various disabilities. Some examples include Autism, Developmental Delay, neurological conditions (e.g. cerebral palsy, brain and spinal chord injuries,), genetic conditions (e.g. Down Syndrome, Fragile X), intellectual and learning disabilities.
Together, we enable children to participate in day-to-day activities, develop skills, and increase independence. We listen to your goals and help identify the steps and support needed to reach them. Then we work with you to get there. We come with expertise on supporting child development, adapting tasks and environments. We also recognise that you ultimately know best when it comes to your child and family.

 Daily activities & natural environments
Therapy is most successful when it is embedded in everyday life. We come to your home, school, or community spaces to learn the skills in the places you will use them. We can set goals around any part of your day.

  •  Play time – having fun, learning, and playing well with others

  •  Self-care – improving mealtimes, toileting, bathing, dressing, brushing teeth, and sleep routines

  •  Kinder \ School – supporting inclusion and transitions

  •  Community outings – travelling, shopping, and everywhere else.

Reaching your goals in a variety of ways

Making progress often involves learning new skills, changing the way we do something, or changing things about the environment.
We can assist with:

  • Developing underlying skills

    • Cognitive

    • Gross and fine motor

    • Sensory and perceptual

    • Emotional regulation

    • Communication and social

  • Identifying low-cost assistive technology and everyday items that may aid your child in reaching their goals.

  • Adapting and enriching everyday environments to make participation easier or provide extra learning and skill-building opportunities.

Groups & Events

Our groups and events are new and evolving. We would love to have a greater impact on children and families, and to enable enjoyable community building.
We collaborate with other people and small businesses to deliver these groups\events and will post the event details on our online platforms (Facebook, Instagram, MotHs, etc.). If there is a group, event, or topic you think would be beneficial for the community, or if you would like to collaborate with us to create something, please reach out and let us know! :) We love empowering others to grow and succeed, and really enjoy working together to effect positive change.
