Resources for Family Violence victims

Asking for help is never easy. Even the simple act of asking a neighbour for a cup of sugar seems out of reach at times. We try so hard to project a sense of strength, control or having a perfect relation that showing vulnerability has become difficult. Reaching out and asking for help becomes even harder when there is a genuine fear.

Researchers from the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) Centre for Justice surveyed 362 domestic family violence (DFV) agencies and individuals across the country mid 2021. More than two-thirds of those surveyed reported an increase in new clients. This concerning research, along with an increase in the number of conversations MotHs Inc has witnessed and supported online has prompted us to update our family violence resources.

In late 2021 as a result of a domestic violence incident in our area, we published key information on our blog page (click here). We’ve now gone one step further with this ‘ cheat sheet’ which has been kindly created by one of our experienced network partners. This can be downloaded and printed out to pass on to those needing information on who to call and where to go. You can download this here or you can scroll down to find the contacts you need on this page or skip to the following sections:
